Google sync with Blackerry

January 28, 2008 Craig Dwyer Leave a comment

I have been struggling for a couple of months with the sync on my Mac and Blackberry – I had an upgrade from Orange couple of months ago and my missing sync software stopped working. I looked at Google Calendar over the weekend and discovered that it works great with the Orange build I’m currently on. I continue to be impressed with the ease of integration Google mobile applications have with the Blackberry. In my view this bodes well for the Google Phone, as they just seem to get it (and make it work).

Whizzy Skyhook Wireless solution surprises

January 21, 2008 Craig Dwyer Leave a comment

I just upgraded my sons ipod touch the other day with apples recent software update. One of the additions to the pack is maps, which has a location finder. I had no idea how it worked (it does not have any GPS) and expected it to give an error message, not lock to our location in 2 seconds. Amazing – after doing a quick search on the web I find that it is using a technology from skyhook wireless. Check them out – its a very clever solution, and one I think has some major opportunities in urban mobile technology. I’m also almost enjoying the mail and ical integration, as my blackberry, which I love, just is not cutting it for me with a cable sync to my Powerbook. I think I have become a sync junkie, and am considering a switch to the iphone if I can’t debug the current solution.

Kajeet targets tweens – pay as you go service launches in US.

Just had the pleasure of meeting Matt Baker, one of the founders of Kajeet - an MVNO target the youth market. They are just launching the service and are building out a brand targeted at kids, with a whole community ‘Dudeworld’ and a range of characters. I want one!

Oh and by the way – you can call me Zeo
